SRS Airbag and Belt Tensioner (Training Model)

This training environment from our family of “Compact” systems allows the trainee to analyse corresponding systems in practical experimentation and demonstrations using an SRS airbag and seat-belt tensioner and includes testing exercises. The system’s very realistic design, including the use of manufacturer-specific diagnostic concepts, makes for equally realistic training.

Training Model – "Airbag Set Including Head and Side Airbags"

This training model for vehicle airbag systems uses a complete supplemental restraint system (SRS) to impart all the necessary diagnostic skills which will be of vital importance in any subsequent career. The model is made up entirely of OEM components from a Volkswagen Golf 5 and thus provides trainees with a practical learning experience just like working on a real car. The model contains not only an airbag controller but also an on-board network controller complete with original fuses and cable harness as well as all crash sensors. The actuators are secured to prevent triggering but are also fully represented. This allows students to work safely with the model. Apart from the front airbags for driver and front-seat passengers, there are also side and head airbags in the SRS as well as belt tensioners and buckles. The model also features seat-occupancy detection. The built-in CAN gateway connects together all the electronic components and the diagnostic socket.

As well as the authentic components, the system is also enhanced for educational purposes by means of the following modifications, making it particularly suitable for use in educational settings which closely resemble professional practice:

• Built-in fault simulation circuitry (20 faults, simulation of wiring breaks and junction resistances)
• 4-mm measurement connections for direct measurement in fault situations
• Wiring in accordance with original circuit diagrams
• Includes original Volkswagen diagnostic and simulation plugs
• The passenger airbag can be deactivated
• Combined instrument panel with indicators relevant to the SRS

This professionel charging unit is a 120 A high power CONNECTED charger with inverter technology. It allows to keep a 12 V lead or lithium battery at a perfectly stabilized voltage during the diagnostic phases. It will deliver the best charging cycle recommended for the maintenance of the most advanced vehicles on the market. Its USB connectivity makes it 100% customizable.

Operating modes

• Charging: for 12 V Lead or Lithium (LFP) batteries from 5 to 1500 Ah.
• Diagnostics: supports up to 120 A for 12 V batteries in vehicles in the diagnostic phase, in maintenance workshops.
