All of the important components have thus been made accessible so as to allow for direct measurement of the sensor and actuator signals. To simulate typical auto shop situations, faults can be enabled via a fault simulation box.
Thanks to various expansion packs the training vehicle can be customized specifically for the client. This makes it possible for the training system to be upgraded into a completely digitalized training vehicle, making the training system into one that is optimally integrated into the modern training methodology of the 21st century. Faults are wirelessly uploaded to the vehicle using course software that can then be worked through autonomously by the trainee on the basis of the auto shop job order.
All of the measurement results (including current measurements via clam meters) are transmitted to the software and evaluated.
It is also possible to expand the training system by adding trainee measurement stations, which enable several trainees to measure and perform diagnostics in parallel. This makes it possible for an entire group to be kept busy working on just one vehicle.

This extension transforms the training system into a digitally integrated training vehicle. By adding a variety of modifications, both trainer and trainee are provided with totally new ways of interacting. As soon as the digital training environment inside the pack has been connected via WLAN to the vehicle using a Windows end device, the training system can unleash its full potential. The measurement interface integrated into the training vehicle is used in combination with the training environment to provide all the measuring instruments ever needed. Accordingly the trainee can choose from a wide spectrum of instruments ranging from a simple voltmeter, to an ammeter all the way to a four-channel oscilloscope. Signals and measurement values are directly tapped at the measurement sites inside the training vehicle (so-called breakout boxes). During the measurement, findings are transmitted to the training environment in real time for immediate evaluation and archiving. With a focus on diagnostics, the interactive course integrated into the training environment explores the material and imparts the needed know-how using numerous animations and practical exercises to permit a professional and time-efficient diagnosis to be carried out on the motor vehicle.
The diagnostics interface which is also integrated ensures that in-depth diagnostic skill is acquired by permitting a select number of fault simulations to be introduced to the motor vehicle. Since these faults are enabled directly from the learning environment, it is the easiest way possible of fault activation. The trainee initiates a workshop order and in the process the faults are automatically introduced to the motor vehicle. On the course page the complete method of diagnosis is noted down and all measurement findings are saved. As soon as the trainee has left the course page, the faults are automatically disabled again. The vehicle thus returns to its fault-free operating state.
Additional modifications versus the basic version
This expansion pack adds to the training vehicle a network of individually extendable trainee measurement stations. If a measurement is being conducted by several trainees at once, the integrated digital measurement interface supports this process by transmitting up to six different signals (depending on the channel, up to 300 V ) via cable and thus completely disturbance-free from the training vehicle to any trainee workstation. Thanks to the perfect digitally interconnected network, even the various CAN signals from the vehicle can be transmitted directly to the trainee via an integrated gateway. The network comprising student measurement stations can be expanded (Standard: 6 student measuring units) at will while still retaining the same signal quality. With the aid of expansions, whole groups can work on one and the same vehicle. It is also possible to easily create practical tests and to conduct them with this expansion pack without any great effort.
Additional modifications versus the basic version
This set gives you the option of setting up a complete safety zone for working with high-voltage hybrid and electric vehicles or their high-voltage batteries. Six securely free-standing poles with cordon straps allow you to set up a safety zone which meets the highest safety demands. Such a safety zone needs to be set up to secure high-voltage vehicles or their HV components and to protect trainees in laboratories or repair shops. For any work on a high-voltage battery it is essential for the area to be cordoned off. Setting up a safety zone is therefore an essential aspect of any training.
The cordon straps require no maintenance, are resistant to tearing and do not sag. This guarantees the highest level of safety and durability. The three magnetic roof pylons can be simply attached to the roof of a vehicle without any tools. Everything in the set is a certified and tested safety product.
When carrying out measurements on vehicles using high-voltage systems, special requirements are set with regard to safety for measurement and testing. This is why we provide a high-voltage measuring system "HV Safety 2000" with a USB interface. It has been specifically developed for automotive requirements. It allows for high-voltage safety requirements to be maintained in repair workshops and for measurement procedures to be documented.
